Set in the heart of wartime Malta, the show transports you to a time where music and stories lured sailors into Valletta’s most infamous street. It’s Victory in Europe Day, WWII has just ended, and The Gut is alive with music, mischief, and celebration. Amidst the clinking glasses and jubilant street-side cheers, Violetta, a singer and barmaid and her brother Duminku, a sailor bursting with stories from the front, welcome you to the heart of Valletta’s spirited past.

The Performance

Together, they revive forgotten characters and hidden tales of the street, weaving them with wartime classics like We’ll Meet Again, Roll Out The Barrel, Lili Marlene, and more, brought to life by Gennaro, the bar’s accordionist. Tickets to the production include a 40-minute performance starting at 18:30 and a free drink at Sailors’ Paradise Bar, Strait Street, Valletta.
